Privileged Access Management with Microsoft Entra PIM
Standing admin rights are a top target for attackers. Skytech Enterprise removes permanent privileged access and deploys Microsoft Entra Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for just-in-time, approved and audited elevation across Entra ID, Microsoft 365 and Azure.

What is privileged access management?
Privileged access management (PAM) is the set of controls that secure, limit and monitor administrator access. Privileged Identity Management (PIM) is Microsoft’s cloud service for just-in-time role activation in Entra ID and Azure. Instead of holding permanent admin rights, administrators are eligible for a role and activate it for a limited time, with MFA, justification and optional approval.

Privileged access management FAQs
Common questions about PIM and admin access.
Which licence is required for Entra PIM?
Microsoft Entra ID P2 or Microsoft Entra ID Governance for users who are eligible for or activate privileged roles. P2 is included in Microsoft 365 E5.
What is just-in-time access?
Administrators receive privileges only when needed, for a limited time, after meeting conditions such as MFA and justification. Access expires automatically.
How many Global Administrators should we have?
Microsoft recommends fewer than five Global Administrators, with daily tasks performed using less privileged roles.
Is PIM the same as a PAM tool?
PIM covers Microsoft cloud roles. Organizations with on-premises servers or network devices may also need a vaulting or session management tool; we can advise on that.
How long does a PIM deployment take?
Typically 2 to 4 weeks for Entra roles, with Azure resource roles added in a second phase.
