Managed Detection & Response (MDR) Services
Skytech Enterprise monitors your environment 24/7, investigates alerts and responds to threats on your behalf. Our managed detection and response service is built on Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel, giving organizations in the UAE and USA round-the-clock security operations without building an in-house SOC.
Managed detection and response at a glance
Who this is for
CISOs and IT Directors who need 24/7 threat monitoring and response but do not have, or do not want to build, an in-house security operations center.
When you need this
Alerts are going unreviewed, a cyber insurer requires 24/7 monitoring, after an incident, or when Defender and Sentinel are deployed but not watched.
Delivery model
Ongoing monthly managed service with onboarding, defined response actions and regular reporting.
What is managed detection and response?
Managed detection and response (MDR) is a managed security service in which an external team of analysts monitors your security telemetry around the clock, investigates suspicious activity, and takes response actions such as isolating devices or disabling compromised accounts. Unlike a traditional managed security service that mainly forwards alerts, MDR includes investigation and active response.
MDR is sometimes delivered as SOC-as-a-Service or managed SOC. The outcome is the same: threats are detected and contained quickly, day or night.
What our MDR service includes
- 24/7 monitoring – continuous monitoring of endpoints, identities, email, cloud apps and logs.
- Alert triage and investigation – analysts validate alerts, remove false positives and determine scope.
- Active response – agreed actions such as device isolation, account disablement, session revocation and malicious email removal.
- Threat hunting – proactive searches for attacker activity that did not trigger alerts.
- Detection engineering – continuous tuning of Microsoft Sentinel and Defender XDR detections.
- Incident escalation – seamless escalation to our incident response and forensics team for major incidents.
- Reporting – monthly reports on incidents, trends and recommended improvements.
How onboarding works
- Scope – agree data sources, response actions and escalation contacts.
- Connect – onboard Defender XDR, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Sentinel and other sources.
- Baseline – tune detections to your environment and normal activity.
- Go live – 24/7 monitoring with runbooks and communication paths.
- Improve – monthly service reviews and posture recommendations.
MDR vs EDR vs SIEM
- EDR is endpoint technology, see Endpoint Security & EDR.
- SIEM, such as Microsoft Sentinel, collects and correlates logs from many sources.
- MDR is the people and process that watch those tools 24/7 and respond.
Benefits of MDR
- Threats detected and contained outside business hours and on weekends.
- Access to experienced analysts without hiring a full SOC team.
- More value from Microsoft security licences you already own.
- Evidence of 24/7 monitoring for insurers, auditors and customers.
Why choose Skytech Enterprise for MDR
- Specialists in Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Response, not just notification, within agreed actions.
- Coverage for UAE and US time zones.
- One partner for monitoring, incident response, and security leadership.

Managed detection and response FAQs
Common questions about MDR and 24/7 security monitoring.
What is the difference between MDR and MSSP?
A traditional MSSP often monitors devices and forwards alerts. MDR focuses on detection, investigation and active response, so threats are contained rather than just reported.
Is MDR the same as SOC-as-a-Service?
They overlap. Both provide outsourced 24/7 security operations. MDR emphasizes threat detection and response outcomes.
Which tools does your MDR service use?
Our service is built on Microsoft Defender XDR and Microsoft Sentinel, and can ingest other sources through Sentinel.
What response actions can you take?
Typical actions include isolating devices, disabling or resetting compromised accounts, revoking sessions and removing malicious emails. Actions are agreed with you during onboarding.
Do we need Microsoft 365 E5 for MDR?
E5 or E5 Security provides the broadest coverage. We also support Business Premium and other licence combinations, with coverage defined during scoping.
How quickly can MDR start?
Onboarding typically takes a few weeks depending on data sources and existing configuration.
