What does Microsoft Intune do?
Intune is Microsoft’s cloud endpoint management service. It enrolls Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices, applies configuration and security policies, deploys apps, manages updates and reports compliance, all from one console integrated with Entra ID and Defender.
What is Windows Autopilot and do we need it?
Autopilot lets a new device ship directly from the supplier to the user. On first sign-in it joins Entra ID, enrolls in Intune and installs apps and policies automatically. If you buy devices regularly or support remote staff, it removes imaging and manual setup entirely.
Can Intune replace SCCM and Group Policy?
For most organizations, yes. Intune covers configuration, apps, updates and security for modern Windows devices. Where SCCM is still needed we configure co-management and move workloads to Intune in stages, then retire SCCM when it is safe.
How long does an Intune deployment take?
A deployment for up to 300 devices is usually complete in 3 to 6 weeks: design and build in the first two weeks, a pilot ring, then enrollment waves. Larger fleets are phased by site or department.
Which licence includes Intune?
Intune is included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium, E3, E5 and EMS, or available standalone as Intune Plan 1. We confirm what your existing licences already cover before recommending anything new.
Does Intune work for BYOD phones and personal devices?
