Endpoint Security & EDR Services
Skytech Enterprise protects laptops, desktops, servers and mobile devices with endpoint detection and response (EDR). We replace legacy antivirus, deploy and harden Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, and can monitor and respond to endpoint threats 24/7.
Endpoint security and EDR at a glance
Who this is for
IT Directors and IT managers responsible for protecting Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS and Android devices and servers.
When you need this
Replacing legacy antivirus, a cyber insurer requires EDR, a ransomware scare, or EDR is deployed but alerts are not reviewed.
Delivery model
Deployment project, with optional managed EDR as part of our MDR service. Defender for Endpoint P1/P2 or Defender for Business.
What is EDR?
Endpoint detection and response (EDR) continuously records activity on endpoints, detects suspicious behaviour such as ransomware, credential theft and living-off-the-land techniques, and lets analysts investigate and contain threats, for example by isolating a device. Unlike traditional antivirus, EDR detects attacks that do not use known malware files.
What our endpoint security service includes
- Antivirus replacement – migrate from legacy antivirus to Microsoft Defender Antivirus with next-generation protection.
- Defender for Endpoint deployment – onboarding through Intune or Group Policy, including servers.
- Attack surface reduction – ASR rules, controlled folder access, network protection and tamper protection.
- Device hardening – security baselines, BitLocker and local admin control.
- Vulnerability management – Defender Vulnerability Management with patch management.
- Managed EDR – 24/7 alert triage, investigation and device isolation through our MDR service.

Endpoint security and EDR FAQs
Answers to common endpoint protection questions.
What is the difference between antivirus and EDR?
Antivirus blocks known malicious files. EDR records endpoint behaviour, detects unknown and fileless attacks, and enables investigation and response such as isolating a device.
What is the difference between EDR and MDR?
EDR is the technology. MDR is a managed service where a team monitors EDR and other alerts 24/7 and responds on your behalf.
Defender for Business or Defender for Endpoint?
Defender for Business suits organizations up to 300 users and is included in Microsoft 365 Business Premium. Defender for Endpoint P2 adds advanced hunting and longer data retention for larger or regulated organizations.
Does EDR protect servers?
Yes. Defender for Endpoint protects Windows and Linux servers, typically licensed through Defender for Servers in Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
Do cyber insurers require EDR?
Many insurers now ask whether EDR is deployed on all endpoints and servers. Requirements vary by insurer.
