Disaster Recovery Services with Azure Site Recovery
Skytech Enterprise designs, tests and manages disaster recovery with Azure Site Recovery, so critical servers and applications can fail over to another Azure region and keep running when a site, region or data centre goes down.
Disaster recovery at a glance
Who this is for
IT Directors, CFOs and risk owners responsible for business continuity.
When you need this
A cyber insurance or audit requirement, a near-miss outage, or no tested recovery plan for critical systems.
Delivery model
Design and test-failover project, with optional ongoing replication management and regular DR testing.
What is disaster recovery as a service?
Disaster recovery (DR) is the ability to restore critical IT systems after a major disruption. Azure Site Recovery continuously replicates virtual machines and physical servers to a secondary Azure region, so you can fail over within your agreed recovery time objective (RTO) and with data loss limited to your recovery point objective (RPO).
What our DR service includes
- Business impact analysis – critical systems, RTO and RPO targets.
- DR design – target region, networking, identity and application dependencies.
- Azure Site Recovery setup – replication for Azure VMs, on-premises VMware, Hyper-V and physical servers.
- Recovery plans – ordered failover with scripts and manual steps.
- Test failovers – non-disruptive tests in isolated networks, with documented results.
- Runbook – who decides, who acts and how to fail back.
- Ongoing management – replication health monitoring and regular DR tests.
How it works
- Assess systems and recovery objectives.
- Design the DR architecture and estimate costs.
- Implement replication and recovery plans.
- Test failover and document results.
- Manage replication and retest regularly.
Benefits
- Critical systems back online within agreed targets.
- Tested, documented recovery for insurers and auditors.
- No need to run a secondary data centre.
Why choose Skytech Enterprise
- Azure infrastructure and continuity expertise.
- Every DR design is proven with a test failover.
- Combined with backup and ransomware readiness for complete resilience.

Disaster recovery FAQs
Common questions about disaster recovery.
What are RTO and RPO?
RTO is how quickly a system must be back online after a disaster. RPO is the maximum amount of data loss, measured in time, that is acceptable.
Can Azure Site Recovery protect on-premises servers?
Yes. It supports VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines and physical servers, replicating them to Azure.
Does a test failover affect production?
No. Test failovers run in an isolated network, so production keeps running.
How often should DR be tested?
At least once or twice a year, and after major changes to critical systems.
Is disaster recovery the same as backup?
No. Backup restores data from earlier points in time. Disaster recovery keeps whole systems ready to run in another location. Most organizations need both.
